Reading Eggs Launches First-Ever Online Summer School
Reading Eggs, the popular children’s reading app, has announced their first-ever virtual summer school for children in Grades K–3.
Launching on May 31st 2021, the 10-week, evidence-based summer program is set up to help children catch up on key reading and math skills after a year of school closures.
The carefully designed curriculum has been put together by the same team of elementary educators behind the award-winning Reading Eggs and Mathseeds programs. Children complete a set of worksheets alongside highly engaging online lessons in order to bridge the gap between one grade level and the next.
Over 10 million children around the world have used Reading Eggs to build essential reading and literacy skills. 2021 is the first time that parents and homeschoolers will be offered a specially created summer learning curriculum to help children catch up on lost learning.
According to the NWEA, students are predicted to have lost 30% of reading gains and 50% of math skills during school closures across the country. Parents and teachers anticipate this unprecedented level of learning loss to only worsen over the summer months, where children spend less time reading and studying.
Reading Eggs’ accelerated online summer program promises to be fun, highly motivating, and a safe alternative to physical summer camps. Children will revisit, consolidate, and build crucial literacy and math concepts specifically for their grade level, and are encouraged to complete 30 minutes a day in order to catch up on one year of reading and math learning in just 10 weeks.
Parents will also receive ongoing support over the 10-week period, including weekly emails, live webinars, incentive charts, skills overview, and certificates. Children can also win fun prizes each week for taking part.
